Fiber-based silver gelatin prints are the most beautiful and long lasting black & white prints available. Superior tonal range, durability and resistance to fading for over 200 years, make these prints the gold standard by which all other processes are judged. We recommend these prints for fine art and high end commercial uses.

Panopticon Imaging takes great pride in offering the highest quality archival silver gelatin printing. We use double-weight glossy Ilford Multigrade paper, developed in Kodak D72 1:1, finished with a dilute selenium bath to assure archival permanence. Special papers, developers and toners are available upon request at additional charge.

Fiber printing is charged at an hourly rate of $125/hour plus paper costs and any special chemistry. This policy fairly addresses the issue that an 8x10 fiber print is as equally time consuming to make as a 16x20 print. We also offer day rate printing which can substantially reduce individual print prices, providing a range of prints to the customer. While there is no set measure of how many negatives can be printed in any given 8-hour printing schedule, one to two negatives per hour is reasonable. Quantity prints from a single negative will result in significant savings per print as the great majority of printing time is spent perfecting the first print.
