Panopticon began in 1970 as a traditional black & white custom photo lab, serving architectural firms, advertising agencies, and some of Boston's and New York's best commercial and fine art photographers. Early highlights in the lab's career included: the printing of back to back Pulitzer prize winning photographs for Stanley Forman, Polaroid Corporation's marketing portfolio of photographic prints from their first positive/negative film materials and the exhibition quality display prints demonstrating Agfa-Gevaert's new line of black and white photographic papers.
